Grifols Engineering signs supply contract with Belgian Red Cross (CAF-DCF Red Cross)

03/02/2010

Grifols Engineering technology for the Belgian Red Cross.

CAF-DCF Red Cross has chosen Grifols Engineering as its supplier for the installation of a plasma (ABO) emptying line1 at its Brussels fractionation plant. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for the end of this year. Grifols Engineering will also be responsible for installation and start-up of the machinery, together with any modifications to the layout this entails.

The patented technology to be used at the facilities has been developed jointly by Grifols Engineering and the Production area of Instituto Grifols. CAF-DCF Red Cross is an associate company of Sanquin, with plasma product manufacturing plants in Brussels and Amsterdam.

The agreement means that GE equipment is now setting the standard for the sector, as the Grifols group already uses this machinery at its plants in Parets del Valles (Spain) and Los Angeles, as does Talecris at its North Carolina plant.
