GE project for 3P Biopharmaceuticals completed successfully

The 14th of September saw the official opening of the 3P Biopharmaceuticals plant in Noaín, Pamplona. The project engineering was provided by Grifols Engineering, and included designing and implementing the plant, and the manufacture, supply and installation of the process machinery, including the fermenters, which were the most challenging items of equipment in the plant. The inauguration was attended by the President of the Navarre Region, and the Minister for Science and Innovation, Cristina Garmendia. 3P Biopharmaceuticals has also recently been granted laboratory authorization by the Spanish medications and health products agency, Agemed.

The 3P plant is one of the first projects to be implemented in its entirety in Spain in the industrial biotechnology sector.

After working for more than 2 years on the plant, GE's success is a real achievement. The project has been a valuable source of experience for our engineering company, both from a technical perspective and with regard to managing a project of this scope for a third party. GE is now better placed to take on new assignments, thanks to the experience it has acquired and the reputation it has gained as a company capable of implementing projects of this magnitude.
